Posted April 8, 2020
Attention Matteson Area Public Library Patrons:
In response to recent public health recommendations concerning the coronavirus, we are not taking material donations at this time, all library programs have been canceled and the Matteson Area Public Library will be closed until further notice.
This safety measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution, not due to any known exposure. We regret any inconvenience this causes. Please check our Facebook page or here for any updates.
There will not be any tax preparation service at the library. Illinois Taxes are now due on 7/15/2020.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping the Library and our community safe.
In the meantime we strongly encourage you to use the digital tools the library provides. Find those here!
Good news from SWAN Library Services:
All library cards are good until July 1st. They will not expire until then, so do not worry about renewing at this time. Anyone who had cards that expires between 1/1/20 – 6/30/20 they have been updated to expire July 4th so that patrons can access online materials.
All library checked out items are due June 3. Keep your items until then. Please do not put items into the dropbox. Holds are currently suspended.
If you have been unable to access the library’s online resources due to outstanding fines or bills, the blocks to your account(s) have been temporarily lifted so library cardholders can access them at this time.
Also now that fines have been forgiven, if you need a library card to access our eResourses you can fill out this form here to receive a free library card. If approved a library staff member will be in contact with you.
Take care, stay safe everyone and check back here for updates about the library and follow us on Facebook. Click here to find our Facebook page. #staysafestayhome
