Blog > Do We Gather Together or Not This Year?

Posted November 23, 2020

Holidays can be stressful times in many families for various reasons, but this year Covid-19 has imposed an unprecedented challenge on all of us. Should we get together with our extended families and possibly put vulnerable family members at risk or do we stay at home and celebrate as best we can under the circumstances?  As the University of Chicago recommends, “you’ll need to get creative and have honest (and possibly uncomfortable) conversations with every member of your family about their individual safety needs and risk tolerances.”  The CDC, the Illinois Department of Public Health, Cleveland Clinic, and the University of Chicago Medicine have released these guidelines and suggestions for how to handle this dilemma. Talk to your family doctor for guidance as well.

Happy Holidays, everyone, and stay safe.
