Celebrate National Library Week at Matteson Library (April 19–25, 2026)

Join us at the Matteson Area Public Library as we celebrate National Library Week, April 19–25, 2026! This year’s theme, “Find Your Joy,” reminds us that the library is your space to discover new books, enjoy free Wi-Fi, explore resources, and connect with your community.

In celebration of 150 years of the American Library Association, we’re highlighting the important role libraries continue to play in bringing knowledge, creativity, and opportunity to our communities.

Throughout National Library Week, Monday through Saturday, stop by for live demonstrations of library services and amenities, where you can learn more about the many tools and resources available at your library. We’ll also have giveaways, raffles, a scavenger hunt, treats and more for visitors during the week.  Saturday April 25, at 1 pm join us for the ribbon cutting of our renovated lobby followed by guided tours of the Matteson Historical Society next door. There’s something for everyone—and plenty of joy waiting for you at the library!
