Step into Mental Health Awareness: Join Our Wellness Event!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and breaking stigmas surrounding mental health issues. This May, we invite you to join us for a special wellness event organized in collaboration with Matteson Rotary to support mental health awareness in our community.

Physical exercise has long been recognized as a crucial component of maintaining good mental health. It’s not just about physical fitness; regular exercise has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve mood, and enhance overall well-being. As we advocate for mental health awareness, incorporating physical activity into our routines becomes even more significant.

On May 4th at 8 am, lace up your sneakers, grab your bike, or simply put on your walking shoes and head over to the library parking lot. From there, we’ll embark on a journey of wellness, walking, running, or biking to Vollmer Rd. Grove and back—a refreshing 3-mile round trip.

The color green symbolizes mental health awareness, so we encourage you to wear something green to show your support for the cause. Together, we can spread awareness and show solidarity with those who may be struggling with mental health challenges.

During the event, we’ll provide water and healthy snacks to keep you energized and hydrated. It’s not just about the physical activity; it’s about coming together as a community to support one another and prioritize our mental health.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or someone who simply wants to show support for mental health awareness, everyone is welcome to join us. Together, let’s take a step forward in promoting mental health awareness and creating a healthier, happier community.
